Selena Gomez ‘Shocked’ By Justin Bieber Engagement News & Wonders If He Ever Really Loved Her

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Engagement

Selena Gomez is ‘stunned’ by Justin Bieber’s engagement to Hailey Baldwin! A source close to Selena told HL EXCLUSIVELY how she took the bombshell news!

Justin Bieber is reportedly engaged to Hailey Baldwin and there is one person’s reaction to this news we all want to know right now: his on again, off again ex Selena Gomez. A source close to Selena told EXCLUSIVELY how she handled hearing about her ex’s surprise proposal. “Selena was totally shocked and stunned to hear it’s being reported that Justin proposed to Hailey,” our source said. “She honestly can’t believe it. Selena didn’t think they were even that serious, so the thought of them getting married is just mind-boggling to her.”

Deep down, Selena believes that Justin’s engagement is potentially sending her a message. “Selena can’t help feeling that Justin has some ulterior motive going on, like, he’s trying to make her jealous, or he’s proving a point to her that he really is grown up and ready for commitment,” our source added. “She just can’t get her mind around it otherwise.”

On top of that, the news of Justin’s engagement comes only months after their relationship came to an end — a relationship where Justin told her he loved her. “If it is a serious proposal, and Justin is being totally genuine in wanting to marry Hailey, then Selena can’t help questioning what he really felt about her, and if her really did love her, because it was only a few months ago that he was declaring his undying love for her, and swearing he couldn’t live without her,” our source added.

Meanwhile, another source close to Justin said, “We could easily be talking about Justin and Selena being engaged right now, but the strain that her Mom brought to that rekindled relationship basically was the last straw for them to be a forever couple. They tried and their was push-back from her family to him and he didn’t want to deal with that the rest of his life. So that is why he found love elsewhere.” We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about this huge news.

Singer Chris Brown arrested after Florida concert

MIAMI: Singer Chris Brown was arrested for battery following a concert in Florida, authorities said Friday, the troubled star’s latest brush with the law.

Police seized the R&B star shortly after he left the stage Thursday night in West Palm Beach. He was booked on a charge of felony battery and released after he paid a $2,000 bond, the sheriff’s office said.

The Palm Beach County sheriff’s office said that Brown was arrested on a warrant from Tampa but did not give specifics.

The celebrity news site TMZ said the warrant was related to an incident last year when Brown punched an in-house photographer during a paid appearance at a nightclub.

The singer was due to return to Tampa on Friday for a concert as part of an ongoing tour.

Brown, 29, has a long history of violence. In May, a Los Angeles woman said she was lured to the singer’s house and repeatedly raped by him and a rapper.

Prominent lawyer Gloria Allred called it “one of the most horrific cases involving alleged sexual assault that I have ever seen.”

Most notoriously, Brown in 2009 was convicted of beating fellow singer Rihanna, who was then his girlfriend and was forced to miss the Grammy Awards due to her injuries.

In 2016, he was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon following a standoff with Los Angeles police, after a woman said he threatened her at his home.

He also pleaded guilty to assaulting a fan in Washington in 2014 and was accused of violence by a woman in Las Vegas.

Brown was discovered by record label scouts when he was a boy working at his father’s gas station in Virginia. First identified as a rapper, he quickly found success with his rich singing voice but he has been in the news more often in recent years for his legal troubles.

Second Pakistan Film Festival to kick off in New York

Second Pakistan Film Festival to kick off in New York

Second Pakistan Film Festival to kick off in New York

NEW YORK: There has been an enthusiastic response to the second two-day Pakistan Film Festival that opens on Saturday organised by the Pakistan Mission to the United Nations in New York.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN, Maleeha Lodhi, said: “We are delighted with the response and hope that this effort at cultural diplomacy will help put our rising film industry on the international map”.

Several celebrities participating in the festival have already started arriving in New York and are looking forward to the festival. The first edition was held in December 2016 and was also organised by Pakistan’s mission to the UN.

Mikaal Zulfikar, who appears in two of the films being screened, said the festival was an important way of showing “the other side of Pakistan”, which the media abroad rarely reflects in its coverage.

In a video message from the airport, before leaving for New York, he said that he was “super excited to be in the Big Apple and represent Pakistan”. Other actors participating in the festival include Mahira Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Asim Abbasi, Shayan Farooqi, Ali Kazmi, Ayesha Omar, Angeline Malik, and Aamina Sheikh, directors Nadeem Baig and Mehreen Jabbar

Oscar award winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy will also participate in the festival in a special segment titled ‘Beyond the Oscars’, in which she will discuss her present and future work as well as challenges faced by the Pakistani film industry.

The festival will be followed by a reception on July 9 at the UN where a large number of ambassadors, UN officials and media representatives accredited to the UN as well as members of the Pakistani diaspora are expected to attend.

“By organizing the Pakistan Film Festival in New York Ambassador Lodhi is providing a platform to introduce the Pakistani style of film making to the world and ensure that it goes international”, said Mumtaz Hussain, a New York based Pakistani-American film director, writer and producer.

A prominent New York-based Pakistani banker said, “Events like the Film Festival provide multiple benefits to the community – both abroad and home- while projecting the softer image of Pakistan and its vibrant arts industry.

“These events keep the diaspora connected to Pakistani culture, while also providing international exposure to our artists and their work. This creates a virtuous cycle- the quality and revenue potential both improve over time, which in turn encourages more development”.

Mr. Sajjad Qamar, member of Pakistan American Business Association (PABA) said, “PABA would like to congratulate Pakistan’s Mission to the UN and especially Dr. Maleeha Lodhi for her tireless efforts to organise the second Pakistan Film Festival in New York.

As a PABA board member, I would like to stress the fact that such events highlight Pakistan’s culture, traditions which in turn enhance cultural understanding. Further it unites and energizes Pakistan’s diaspora to continue to expand efforts to enhance Pakistan’s international stature”.

The festival will conclude with the performance by popular singer, Zeb Bangash with her band Sandaraa. Zeb is part of the first generation of Pakistani musicians to have established themselves internationally.

LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani singer Ali Zafar has taken fellow singer Meesha Shafi to a court for leveling what he said baseless allegations of sexual harassment against him.

The singer-cum-actor filed a defamation suit in a Lahore court through his lawyer, requesting it to direct Ms Shafi to tender an apology over leveling baseless allegations and pay Rs. 1 billion in damages.

Earlier, he had sent a legal notice to the female singer days after the latter accused him of sexually harassing her on multiple occasions.

In a post shared on micro-blogging site Twitter, Meesha Shafi claimed that she had been subjected to sexual harassment “of a physical nature” by Ali Zafar on multiple occasions.

The singer-cum-actress used the hashtag #MeToo to link it with an international movement against sexual harassment and assault.

In his first response to allegations leveled by Meesha Shafi, Ali Zafar had categorically denied all the allegations but had announced to take the matter to courts of law.

He had said that he is deeply aware and in support of the global #MeToo movement and what it stands for but “contesting personal vendettas on social media” is tantamount to disrespecting the movement, his family, the showbiz industry and his fans.

Meesha Shafi maintained that these incidents (of sexual harassment) did not happen when she was young or just entering the industry. “This happened to me despite the fact that I am an empowered, accomplished woman who is known for speaking her mind! This happened to me as a mother of two children,” wrote the 36-year-old mother of two.

She lamented that she felt “betrayed” by Ali’s behavior as he is someone she has known for a long time and has shared the stage with.

‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Review: Epic Sequel Expands The Dino Universe In A Huge Way

‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Review: Epic Sequel Expands The Dino Universe In A Huge Way

‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ raises the stakes from its 2015 predecessor and gives fans more dinosaurs, delightful new characters, and a twist that changes everything.

The park is truly gone. After the events of 2015’s Jurassic World, the park run by Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) was completely destroyed. The dinosaurs were free once again, but not for long. What brings Claire and Owen (Chris Pratt) back to Isla Nublar in the highly-anticipated sequel, in theaters everywhere on June 22, is the fact that the dinosaurs are in danger. The island is imploding, literally. For their journey back, Claire and Owen bring along two newbies: Franklin Webb (Justice Smith), an IT technician; and  Dr. Zia Rodriguez (Daniella Pineda), a paleo-veterinarian.

Upon their return to Jurassic World, the action starts almost immediately. The opening moments of the film feature an incredible and jaw-dropping scene from the island. If you’re looking for those trusty dinosaurs to do some crazy things, then you’re in luck. Owen and Claire are on a quest to find Blue, the highly intelligent Velociraptor that Owen raised. Their lives are put into danger right off the bat, resulting in some truly amazing special effects. For the first time, a film in the franchise ventures off Isla Nublar and takes a more sinister turn.

At first, the introduction of Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), the granddaughter of Sir Benjamin Lockwood, John Hammond’s former partner, seems like a character whose sole purpose is to reach a young audience, but she turns out to be a very captivating part of the film. There’s a major twist involving the Lockwoods that’s a total game-changer and already has me psyched and ready to see where the next film goes. The possibilities are endless.

Chris and Bryce remain great as the two leads of this Jurassic World trilogy. Chris is as snarky and lovable as ever as the risk-taking dino expert, while Bryce continues to keep everyone in check like the fierce leader she is. Justice and Daniella both hold their own against the two main leads and really stake their claim in the film. Jeff Goldblum, as expected, is a scene-stealer, but the film could have used more of him.

By the end of the movie, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has set itself up very nicely for the next installment. This sequel provides more action and thrilling dinosaur scenes that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The movie is the perfect summer flick to catch with the entire family. Long live the dinos!

If Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s increasing social media PDA is any clue, then something wonderful is afoot for the Bollywood couple. A new report suggests that Deepika and Ranveer, who have been together since 2013, will tie the knot later this year, in either Italy or Bengaluru, or both.

Preparations for the wedding are fully on, a source told Filmfare. “The maximum time was taken to decide the date. Both Ranveer and Deepika want everything about their marriage to be perfect. November 10th suited their calendars as well as their parents. The roka was done long back and the wedding date was finalised just a few weeks ago,” the source said.

The families were toying with the idea of hosting the wedding in Udaipur, but that didn’t work out. Instead, there is a possibility that two ceremonies are organises, much like what Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma did.

“Preparations are in full swing from both sides. Ladies have begun the wedding shopping. Ranveer is extremely excited about the wedding and is evidently on cloud 9 with both his professional and personal life being on a high,” the source continued.

Ranveer and Deepika have starred opposite each other in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical epic trilogy – Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and the recent Padmaavat. Recently, they’ve both been commenting on each other’s social media posts, adding fuel to the fire.

After back-to-back films, Arjun Kapoor wants to take a break from Parineeti Chopra

Actor Arjun Kapoor says his Namaste England co-star Parineeti Chopra brings out the best in him during shooting. Arjun, Parineeti and director Vipul Amrutlal Shah interacted with the media at the wrap party of Namaste England on Wednesday.

Both actors earlier featured in Ishaqzaade, and Namaste England marks the second time that they have been paired. They will also be seen in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.

Arjun said: “As an actor, Parineeti brings the best out of me because I feel that if you are honest with your co-actor, then automatically, you deliver good results.

“There is not a feeling of fear in me while working with Parineeti as I can tell her to improvise on a certain scene or ask her to do some more retakes together. There is no sense of insecurity among us in terms of outdoing each other. So, you look forward to work with such actors because eventually it helps both the actors to perform a good scene. That is the reason I enjoy working with her.”

Arjun said they have also witnessed a lot of ups and downs in their careers.

“It’s been almost seven years since we did our first film together. We were really young while shooting Ishaqzaade. So, there has been a lot of gap… Both of us have been in touch, but I think we have witnessed so many ups and downs in our personal and professional life, but while working on Namaste England, we didn’t feel like we have shot a film after six years.

“Now, both of us have worked with each other in two back-to-back films. So, I think we should take a break working with each other.”

Namaste England is a sequel to the superhit film Namastey London.

“It’s a franchise that has been loved for so many years. Namastey London had iconic songs, scenes and visuals, so to be part of that world, and to be working with Vipul sir who has earlier directed that film, gives me an amazing feeling.

“It’s also a strange feeling because sometimes you want to be part of some films and I clearly remember that I watched Namastey London with Katrina Kaif (who was the film’s leading lady), and today I am talking about wrapping shooting of Namaste England. So, it’s very surreal in that sense,” he added.

The film will release on October 19.
